Babygirl is, well, the baby. At 23 months of age she was dropped in as child #6. As the youngest, she has been functionally an "only" child since she was about 10, when the last of her older sisters moved out. But she was diagnosed with kidney disease at age 11, so she only got to enjoy that "childhood" status for about a year.
Her eldest sister, however, was an only child for the first 9 years of her life, and then went from "only" to "oldest" of a variable number from one to six siblings in less than 5 years. Ouch. She mastered the art of the sister in record time. Not that there weren't moments, or tears, or even some bruises (but we won't won't talk about that LOL). Now, she is The Auntie.
Citygirl moved to California a few years ago. I miss her dreadfully, and my planned trip to see her this year was cancelled by the Covid crisis. But she is home this week, and one of her goals is to spend time with her nieces and nephews, preferably engaging in experiences that will help them remember her better.
So, on Saturday, we had a Princess Picnic Party.
From makeovers, to random acts of kindness (we left cheery cards on the windshields of cars at the park, and even one on a bike LOL), a picnic with gilded tablecloths and fancy plates, to the afterparty Princess Swim, it was a resounding success.
Onward to the next adventure!
DeeDee.
